
KAMPALA, Uganda— Charles Twiine , the former Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) spokesperson who was recently assigned to the Parliament police investigations section, has been reported missing since Wednesday, his family said Friday.
Twiine was last seen and heard from on Wednesday afternoon after leaving police headquarters in Naguru. He had been scheduled to meet the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at 7 a.m. that day.
According to his family, Twiine’s vehicle remains parked at the police headquarters in Naguru. The family has not received a clear explanation regarding his disappearance or his whereabouts after leaving the premises.
Prior to his disappearance, Twiine had traveled with a parliamentary committee to Mbarara on Monday. However, he returned to Kampala on Tuesday night after being summoned to meet with the IGP on Wednesday morning.
His family reported that Twiine’s mobile phones have been switched off since Wednesday afternoon.
