In case of loss/damage of result slips and/or certificates, a letter of verification/ verification letter of results is issued to serve the concerned candidate by Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB)

According to UNEB these are issued on request by individuals, educational institutions, employers and government agencies that carry out investigations.

The requirements for this service are: a letter from school/centre of sitting, physical presence (come in person) however, for candidates outside the country are required to send a copy of the identity document and a letter authorizing someone else to process the document.

Others requirements include police letter in case of loss or damage of slip/certificate, a copy of a valid identity card and processing fees as determined from time to time.

UNEB says payment is made to the Cashier and an appropriate receipt issued.

This website understands that approved fee effective January 2015 is UGX 40,000 for an ordinary letter and UGX 80,000 for a Hard Card that serves as substitute for a certificate.

The second category that includes institutions, agencies and others bodies need to provide key among others; a letter of request addressed to the UNEB Executive Secretary, typed list of persons whose results are to be verified indicating level of examination (PLE, UCE or UACE) year of sitting and the correct index number (including both centre  and candidate number)

Others requirements include photocopies of the result document to be verified/confirmed and the “original” document where forgery is highly suspected and they are also required to pay the Uganda National Examinations Board against an invoice issued by the Board.

The processing of letters of verification of results is done at Ntinda office block.
