More to that, people from all regions of the country are walking away with prizes including motorbikes, cash, and airtime among other prizes.

Salim Waiswa, a painter in Iganga Municipality won himself a boda boda, UGX 1 million and worth UGX 100,000 during the third week of the promotion.

Waiswa could not contain his excitement.

Upon learning he was the random winner, Waiswa fainted only to regain his consciousness minutes later.

To enter the draw, Waiswa said he bought Plascon paint worth 2.5 million from Jubili Hardware where he received coupons and sent them to 7197.

“They gave me 25 coupons because every UGX 100,000, you qualify for a coupon. So, I scratched them and sent them. I later received a call that I was one of the lucky winners in this plascon draw. I have won UGX 1 million, fuel worth UGX 100000 and a boda boda,” an elated Waiswa told reporters.

He added: “I’m extremely excited because now I will use this boda boda [motorbike) to supervise my work. It is going to help me easy my works and I’m so happy with the plascon.”

Another random winner, Rehema Mutesi, a phone seller in Jinja couldn’t explain the joy that she felt after winning cash.

Mutesi walked away with UGX 1.8m and said she would use it to capitalize her phone shop business back home.

“I just bought Plascon Paint worth UGX. 2.3 Million for my sister’s house. They gave me the cards and I scratched and sent them to 7197. After some time, I received a call that I’m a winner.”

Gladys Aber, a painter from Gulu City also won a UGX 2 Million which she said would boost her paint business.

Two other people who bought Plascon Paint won cash prizes including Richard Amaku from Arua walked away with UGX1.4 million and Samuel Kyambadde from Luweero won UGX1.6 Million.

Mr. Daniel Kayongo, Plascon Brand Manager who handed over gifts to elated winners said one can participate by simply buying Plascon paint worth UGX.100, 000, scratch the card and SMS the code to 7197 for a chance to win.

He said the promotion would run for ten (10) weeks until December 12, during which the world’s greatest football tournament will be played in Qatar.

Kayongo said every single day, there’s a Ugandan that wins UGX 1 million from plascon.

He said the promotion seeks to salute Plascon dealers, painters, customers, homeowners and contractors for supporting the company.

“We have invested close to UGX 2 billion, he said, also revealing that some of the money will go to orphanages, schools, and hospitals to support the vulnerable people.

“This promotion is aimed at saying to our customers who have supported us and we’re going to continue to do it, moving throughout the country and continue to give away cash and give out prizes,” he said.
