Umar brings extensive experience and a proven track record, holding a CAF A License, alongside qualifications such as the FIFA Talent Identification and scouting programs, Football Periodization & Mentorship Course from FC-Barcelona.

His coaching achievements include leading Malakia Sports Club to runners-up in the South Sudan Super League, securing multiple titles with Yei-Joint Stars Women’s team (South Sudan Women’s League Champions in 2022/23 and 2023/24), and achieving South Sudan Cup victories with Superstar FC in Bor, while nurturing talents across the West Nile region who earned call-ups to the South Sudan National Team.

A former player with deep football knowledge, Umar’s leadership, scouting expertise, and dedication to player development align with Maroons FC’s vision of excellence.

“His operational understanding of FUFA, CAF, and FIFA procedures, combined with strong communication and mentorship skills, makes him the ideal leader for our team.” said Maroons in a statement.

He will be supported by a skilled technical team, including Mohammad Senfuma as First Assistant, Simon Peter Ojok as Second Assistant, Maxwell Okello as Fitness and Conditioning Coach, Ken Rogers Tezigwa as Goalkeeping Coach, and Stephen Ekidu, who rejoins the technical staff.

“We are confident that Umar’s passion, coaching methodologies and result-oriented approach will drive Maroons FC to new heights. The club warmly welcomes Umar and his new technical team as we embark on this exciting journey together.” The club statement concluded.
