MoData has been offering innovative, intuitive and intelligent digital business solutions for the financial services sector, including implementation, professional advisory services and support.

MoData showcased its advanced Fraud and AML solutions to industry experts from across the Southern African region who had gathered to take part in the 8th Edition of the Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crime & Fraud Southern Africa Conference held earlier this month [September] in Johannesburg.

The two-day conference featured speakers from South Africa, the SADC and around the world who shared their expert knowledge and insights on the future of fraud prevention and AML compliance with the 250 delegates who attended the dynamic gathering.

The conference is the biggest and most popular conference on AML in the region and was once again rated a great success by both the speakers and attendees who praised the high quality of the presentations, the excellent organisation, and the smooth roll-out of the programme. The speakers covered a diverse range of topics, including the impact of the recent grey listing of South Africa, technical compliance factors that need urgent addressing, and the importance of properly implementing new technologies.

“As a leading provider of affordable cloud-based software-as-a-service financial crime and risk management solutions, specifically focused on AML with some overlaps in Fraud, MoData was excited to present its innovative solutions to the attendees who had gathered to share their knowledge and expertise,” said MoData CEO, Darren Turnbull. “With more than 35 years’ experience as passionate crime fighters and industry collaborators, it was a privilege to be able to share how our innovative technologies can revolutionise organisations’ approaches to fraud prevention and empower them to stay ahead in the fight against sophisticated fraudsters.”

With global FinCrime numbers escalating rapidly, equipping themselves to combat modern fraud is essential for organisations who are serious about protecting themselves and their customers. As financial criminals become more sophisticated, organisations need robust Fraud and AML solutions to safeguard against emerging threats. MoData’s cutting-edge technologies are powered by advanced machine learning and offer immediate protection, rapid adaptation to evolving attack patterns, and accurate results without the need for extensive historical data and lengthy training periods.

“Our cloud-based marketplace model eliminates upfront investment barriers, enabling organisations to choose bespoke Fraud and AML services tailored to their needs, with a convenient, monthly pay-as-you-use licensing model,” said Turnbull.

He said the conference had provided the MoData team with the relevant platform to present and showcase both its expertise and solutions to existing and potential clients. “We look forward to strengthening the new relationships and connections we made at the conference and would like to thank both the speakers and attendees for ensuring this annual gathering was such a success,” said Turnbull.
