MPIGI– The Chief Magistrates Court in Mpigi has charged and remanded three Mpigi District officials on charges relating to soliciting bribes from job applicants.

The remanded individuals included; Mr Ssejjemba Martin, LC V Chairperson, Kirumira Frederick, Chairperson of Mpigi District Service Commission, Ms Nakamoga Sarah, the Secretary, Mpigi District Service Commission.
They were charged with demanding money by menaces from job Applicants within the district.
It is alleged that, the District Service Commission has been selling jobs, with applicants being required to pay bribes ranging from UGX 50,000 and 15 million in order to be considered for employment.
They have denied the charges against them, and being that investigations in the matter are still underway , they have been remanded until 8th July 2025.
Their arrest followed a directive from His Excellency, the President who, during his Parish Development Model (PDM) Monitoring tour in the Greater Mpigi area on June 17, 2025, received complaints regarding widespread corruption in the Mpigi District recruitment process and
Ordered Brig Gen Henry Isoke, Head Anti corruption Unit of State House to arrest district officials involved in selling govt jobs.
