Kiwanda made the remarks during a meeting organized by the Office of the Prime Minister and local leaders of Sembabule district ahead of the upcoming farmer education, mobilisation, value addition and service delivery campaign organised by the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU) in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries.

On her part, the PM noted that she will continue implementing all presidential directives issued to her calling upon all stakeholders to bring their issues forward if they are to be solved. She lambasted the opposition for seeking media attention instead of serving their constituents.

“I am ready to be stabbed as long as that brings some peace to President Museveni. He needs space and time to think strategically for the country. The opposition gimmicks are there to divert the people and gain media attention,” Nabbanja said.

The Prime Minister, Hon. Ministers and other leaders spent the weekend in Sembabule, Kalungu and Bukomansimbi districts mobilising the people for the next edition of the Farmer Mobilisation, Education, Value-Addition and Service Delivery campaign.

This campaign, which includes agricultural expos, agricultural information sharing sessions and medical camps, among others, will be held in Kalungu on 27th October, Bukomansimbi on 28th October and Sembabule on 29th October.

The agri-business expos bring together small-holder farmers, large-scale farmers, farmer associations, agricultural researchers, and agri-business companies to exchange ideas on how best to improve production, productivity and profitability.

The agricultural expos run under the theme “Farmer Mobilisation, education, value addition, and profitability campaign’” as advised by H.E the president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
