KAMPALA– Representatives from East African top brands , on Friday evening, converged at Golf Course Hotel in Kampala for the 4th Edition of East African Brand quality Awards.
At this event, at least a number of brands were recognized under 100 categories and were awarded plaques for their outstanding performance.
Patrick Nsubuga, the brand ambassador for the East Africa Brand Quality Awards, revealed that the event was organized with a view of honoring exceptional brands.
As part of promoting manufacturing business in East African region. “We have a platform that is going to support manufacturers to have ready market both locally and internationally. Our hub has a Portal which connect manufacturers to distributors in other countries.” Said Nsubuga
Dennis Ngabirano the Managing Director of Psalm food industries, the producers of Sumz snacks, advised fellow business men to be more innovative on top conducting periodical research, if their businesses are to remain relevant.
“Entrepreneurship in East Africa is more than just launching a brand or a business. It is about creating opportunities, developing empowerment mechanisms, breaking cycle of poverty and inspiring change.” Remarked Ngabirano
He further added that awards are not only about celebrating achievements but also honoring excellence of business leaders.
Hajji Muhammad Kamoga (Kamoga Property Consultants), one of the Award winners in the Real estate sector , thanked Ugandans for the unwavering support they have extended to them for now a period of more than 10 years.
“We are a company that has served Ugandans diligently with trust and transparency. This achievement has not been because of our efforts , but it has been because of the Almighty Allah.”
Kamoga, on behalf of the Company, promised to continue delivering reliable services to all people regardless of their economic or religious backgrounds.
Prudence Ukkonika, the Chief Executive Officer of Bella Wine, asked Entrepreneurs to prioritize expanding their businesses before thinking of investing into luxuries. “Good things are in future, don’t start a brand to become rich , start a brand to grow. Have a passion, because without it , you can’t grow.”
She also asked Ugandans to always support their own (local industries) because of they don’t show love to their own , it may become hard for others also to have confidence in them.
