ISINGIRO -The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Isingiro  has convicted Ayebare Isma, former Chairperson of Rwakakoore “A” PDM SACCO in Rwanjogyera Subcounty, Isingiro District.

After court considering both Mitigating and Aggravating factors, Ayebare was sentenced to a fine of UGX 1M, and further ordered  to compensate the victims he extorted.

He was warned that  failure to do so,  he will serve three years imprisonment term.

During his tenure as Chairperson, Ayebare fraudulently obtained money from hundreds of peasants by falsely claiming that payment ofmoney to him was a requirement for them to benefit from the Parish Development Model (PDM) program.

He was arrested and charged on 31st July 2024 by State House Anti corruption Unit together with Isingiro Police.
