Police annual crime report 2023 is out
The police annual crime of 2023 has indicates a decrease of 1.5 Percent in the volume of crimes reported to Police from 231653 cases reported in 2022 to 228,074 cases reported in the year 2023
The report indicates that 11 crimes that include thefts, assaults, Domestic Violence, rape, threatening violence, Burglaries, Child related cases,Damage to property, Robbery, aggravated robbery of motorcycles, Homicide and Narcotics reported a decrease in crimes
While there was an increase in the 15 crimes which include thefts, sex related cases, defilement, breakings, economic crimes, child neglect, criminal trespass, cyber crimes among others.
The report indicates that there was an increase in the number of road crashes reported in 2023 from 20,394 crashes to 23,608 reported crashes reported in 2023
The report further indicates a 9 percent reduction in the number of fires reported in 2023 from 1,258 fires in 2022 to 1,144 fires in 2023.
