BOMBO, Uganda — PostBank Uganda distributed cows and goats to Muslim communities in Arua, Mbale, Bombo and Fort Portal today, ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha celebration.
The donations were made through the bank’s branches in those regions, with animals given to major mosques. Eid al-Adha is traditionally marked by the slaughter of animals, which are then shared among family, friends and those in need.
Martin Lukyamuzi, PostBank’s Regional Head of Distribution for Greater Kampala, expressed gratitude to the leadership of Bombo Mosque.
“As we approach Eid al-Adha, PostBank Uganda is honored to celebrate this important occasion by supporting our Muslim brothers and sisters through the donation of animals,” Lukyamuzi said. He added that the bank aims to go “beyond extending accessible financial solutions to embracing and supporting the well-being of our communities.”
Mufti Muhammad Kadala, representing the leadership of Masjid Swaleh in Bombo, thanked the bank for the “timely support.”
“The donated animals will go a long way in ensuring that many families can celebrate with joy,” Kadala said.
Lukyamuzi concluded by wishing all Muslims joyous Eid al-Adha celebrations and reiterated PostBank’s commitment to fostering prosperity across Uganda.
