In a one-on-one interview with Patience Tumwikiriize, a resident of Nyakagyeme, it was indicated that Jim Muhwezi has become a perennial liar with unending promises to the electorate. “We are tired of the continous empty promises that have led to the erosion of the social services delivery systems and yet during campaigns he tells us that he has full access to the President whenever need arises”

Rukanirwa is at a greater advantage over Maj.Gen. Jim Muhwezi Katugugu’s failure to deliver on social development across the constituency, having been at the helm for over 25 years.

Some of Jim Muhwezi”s misdeeds stem from his failure to deliver on electricity services where naked electric poles have been lying down and never been erected, having been delivered by former Member of Parliament, Fred Turyamuhweza in the previous Parliamentary term. Some of the affected areas are; Nyakagyeme, Buhunga, Rwerere and Bugangari.

Other failures include, neglect of the roads infrastructure and poor health services in most health centres.

The roads in Bugangari and Bikurungu are almost impassable, leading to cries of the electorate.

More so, bribing and hiding the delegates before the voting date for the NRM chairmanship between Jim and General Tumukunde left people saying Muhwezi might use the same tactic in the primaries with most of them deciding to vote Rukanirwa overwhelmingly.

The other issue disturbing the electorate is the digital number plate project which he embarked on immediately he became the minister of security. Motorists and boda boda riders are very angry at the exorbitant charges, both in acquisition of the number plates and the traffic penalty fees imposed on them because of the digital number plates.

Many people are questioning the legitimacy of the Russian company, the so called investor in the manufacture of the digital number plates likening it to the global fund scheme where the same minister was alleged to have embezzled billions of Uganda shillings of taxpayers money there by denying vulnerable Ugandans access to proper healthcare.

That is why the Rujumbura voters are rushing to support Frank Rukanirwa to dislodge Jim Muhwezi from the campaign during the NRM primaries.
