Shell Uganda’s ‘Omunene W’ekkubo’ campaign Week 5 rewards drivers with fuel, Shell Gas, and lubricants in Kampala. Learn about the prizes and how Ugandan drivers can win.

KAMPALA, Uganda – Vivo Energy Uganda, the company behind Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, continued its “Omunene W’ekkubo” (Great Person of the Road) campaign this week, rewarding 30 more drivers with fuel, Shell Gas, and lubricants. The Week 5 activation, held at the New Taxi Park, saw each winner receive UGX 200,000 worth of fuel.

The three-month initiative celebrates and supports Ugandan drivers who rely on Shell FuelSave Diesel. By simply fueling up at participating Shell service stations, drivers have a weekly chance to win various prizes.

In addition to the fuel awards, 10 drivers received 6-kilogram Shell Gas cylinders, and another 10 were awarded 10-liter packs of Shell Rimula lubricants in the Week 5 draw. With seven weeks still remaining in the “Omunene W’ekkubo” campaign, more motorists have the opportunity to win instant rewards like airtime and fuel, weekly prizes such as Shell Gas and Rimula lubricants, and the grand prizes of two Toyota Hiace drone vans.

Mark Mutungi, Brand Manager – Fuels at Vivo Energy Uganda, emphasized the campaign’s appreciation for customers. “This campaign is our way of saying thank you to our partners on the road — our customers,” he said. “Your loyalty keeps our business moving, and Shell FuelSave Diesel is here to power your journeys efficiently, helping you save and grow your operations.”

Winners are chosen through the weekly “Omunene Wa Week” draw. Beyond the major prizes, customers also receive immediate rewards like airtime, fuel vouchers, and branded merchandise.

Vivo Energy Uganda Managing Director Joanita Menya Mukasa highlighted the company’s ongoing investment in the transport sector. “We’re truly grateful for the support we receive from Uganda’s drivers,” Mukasa stated. “Through this campaign and our partnership with the Uganda Taxi Operators Federation, we aim to not only reward your loyalty but also support your long-term success with tools and knowledge that make a real difference on the road.”

The “Omunene W’ekkubo” campaign extends beyond giveaways, incorporating educational sessions on fuel quality, safe driving practices, and fuel efficiency, as well as community health initiatives and infrastructure improvements at select taxi parks. These efforts reflect Vivo Energy Uganda’s broader commitment to safety, well-being, and empowerment within the transport community across Uganda’s Central, Eastern, Northern, and Western regions.

Drivers can participate in the weekly draw by purchasing Shell FuelSave Diesel worth UGX 50,000 or more at any participating Shell station, with each transaction offering a chance to win. Vivo Energy Uganda affirms its dedication to providing quality products and services that support local businesses and meet the evolving needs of its customers nationwide.
