
KAMPALA, Uganda — Stanbic Bank has launched a 90-day campaign dubbed “FlexiPay Cashback Explosion” to promote digital payments and reward customers for using its mobile platform.
The campaign, which began on June 30, offers customers instant 10% cashback on transactions of 50,000 Ugandan shillings ($13.50) or more. FlexiPay is a digital mobile platform that allows users to make transactions without needing a Stanbic Bank account.
Josephine Nakato, manager of customer experience at FlexiPay, said the campaign aims to give back to customers and demonstrate the value of going digital. “We’re making banking more accessible, enjoyable, and rewarding for everyone,” she said.
The campaign features activation events at various locations nationwide, including Petro service stations, restaurants, supermarkets, and boutiques. Customers can enjoy immediate cashback rewards and receive guidance on using the FlexiPay app for various transactions.
During the launch event at Senana Supermarket in downtown Kampala, interactive demonstrations of the FlexiPay app captivated shoppers and passersby. Two lucky customers, Douglas Wakabi and Leticia Kyomuhendo, won the “One Minute Trolley Dash” game, where they had to grab items of their choice within a minute.
Kyomuhendo said she was thrilled to win and now has more reasons to use FlexiPay daily. “I never thought I’d win, but this campaign has put a big smile on my face,” she said.
Jackie Abwol, brand and marketing manager for FlexiPay, said Stanbic Bank has planned a series of surprises, giveaways, and customer engagement activities throughout the 90-day campaign. She encouraged customers to follow Stanbic Bank’s social media channels for updates on activation locations, campaign highlights, and upcoming surprises.
