KAMPALA, Uganda – The Uganda Prisons Service (UPS) announced that interviews for shortlisted candidates seeking to join the service as recruit warders and wardresses will be held from Monday, May 12, to Friday, May 16, 2025.
According to a statement released by the UPS, interviews will begin daily at 9 a.m. at designated regional recruitment centers.
All shortlisted applicants are advised to strictly follow their assigned dates and locations.
Frank Baine Mayanja, the Senior Commissioner of Prisons and Deputy Director in charge of Corporate and Public Affairs, stressed the importance of transparency in the recruitment process.
“Only those who were shortlisted will be interviewed,” Baine said. “We urge all candidates to present their original academic documents, national ID, and bring a notebook and pen. Anyone found with forged documents will be handed over to police.”
He also warned the public against fraudsters, reminding them that the entire recruitment process is free.
“There are no money transactions involved at any stage of this exercise. Do not pay anyone claiming to facilitate your recruitment,” he cautioned.
The recruitment drive is part of the UPS’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its human resource capacity and maintain discipline, integrity, and professionalism within the correctional service.
