He informed troops that President Museveni has always desired to construct 30,000 housing units in a phased manner so that every soldier is accorded a decent accommodation.

Maj Gen Takirwa implored the soldiers to use alternative means of cooking like gas which is environmentally friendly and healthy and avoid using charcoal and firewood.

He advised the Division leadership to make sure every soldier plants a tree to support the fight against environmental degradation.

He cautioned the soldiers to live within their means and avoid statuses they can’t sustain which results in indiscipline cases.

The Deputy Commander Field Artillery Division, Col Polly Ouma thanked the UPDF leadership for the initiative of constructing houses for soldiers, especially the Field Artillery Division.

In attendance were Commanding Officers, Heads of Department, officers and men of the Field Artillery Division.
