KAMPALA, UGANDA – Vipers Sports Club, fresh off their triumphant 2024-25 season as champions of both the Startimes Uganda Premier League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup, celebrated their historic double with a trophy parade today at the Namanve headquarters of their sponsor, Plascon Uganda. The event marked a celebration of the club’s achievements and the five-year partnership between Vipers SC and Plascon.
Led by captain Milton Karisa, the Vipers delegation, comprising players, coaching staff, and club officials, received a warm welcome from Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte and his team. The visit highlighted the strong bond between the two entities, with Plascon’s unwavering support playing a pivotal role in Vipers’ success. Since the partnership began, Vipers has secured two domestic doubles.
Plascon MD Santosh Gumte expressed his delight at the club’s achievements. “We are proud to be associated with the number one club in the country,” Gumte said. “At the start of the season, Vipers promised to win trophies, and they have delivered on that promise in spectacular fashion. Their dedication, professionalism, and winning mentality align perfectly with Plascon’s values of excellence and leadership.”
Gumte also announced a three-year extension of the partnership, an investment worth approximately 400 million Ugandan shillings. This commitment includes financial backing, marketing collaborations, and additional support aimed at propelling the club to greater heights.
Alex Luganda, Vipers SC’s Legal Director, conveyed the club’s gratitude. “Today is not just about celebrating our victories; it is about acknowledging the partners who have stood with us through every challenge and triumph,” Luganda stated. “Plascon has been more than a sponsor — they have been a pillar of our success. As we prepare to represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League next season, we are honored to carry the Plascon logo on our jerseys, showcasing this partnership on the continental stage.”
As a token of appreciation, the Vipers delegation presented Plascon’s leadership with a commemorative plaque. Following the formal proceedings, the Vipers team and media personnel received an exclusive tour of the Plascon Namanve factory, gaining insight into the production processes behind Plascon’s paint products.
