KAMPALA, Uganda – Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU) will again be the official hydration partner for the fourth annual Tusker Lite Mount Rwenzori Marathon, the company announced Tuesday.
The marathon, known for its scenic route and cultural immersion, is set for Aug. 23 in Kasese district. Runners will compete in 5-kilometer, 10-kilometer, 21-kilometer, and 42-kilometer races.
CCBU, part of the Coca-Cola Beverages Africa group, will provide Rwenzori Pure Natural Mineral Water to all participants. This marks the fourth consecutive year CCBU has partnered with the marathon.
“We are thrilled to once again be a part of this exciting event that showcases the beauty of the Rwenzori region,” said Kirunda Magoola, CCBU’s Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability Director.
CCBU is sponsoring 173 million Ugandan shillings (about $46,000 USD) for this year’s hydration efforts.
Amos Wekesa, team lead for the Tusker Lite Mount Rwenzori Marathon, praised CCBU for its ongoing support, noting the company’s commitment to providing water was invaluable to the event’s success.
