Airtel Uganda has confirmed plans to begin deploying 5G gear at 50 sites across central Kampala from Sunday, July 30.
Together with rival MTN Uganda, Airtel won 5G frequencies in the government’s auction last month.
The Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) has now released the spectrum to the operators, allowing them to commence their 5G launches – MTN’s is expected imminently as well.
