While presiding over the consecration ceremony, Kibuuka reported that the country has registered an increase in Anti-Christians whose aim is to discredit Godly work, but asked the Bishops not to be threatened since he has defeated several individuals of that character.

“It’s now five years since I was consecrated as a Bishop of the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC). The Lord has done a lot of great things in my life although at first we were segregated and attacked by several people for their selfish interests.”

Kibuuka therefore informed them that they may face similar challenges to his but they should not give up, but instead should become much Stronger.

“I thank the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Government for upholding the freedom of worship as enshrined in the 1995 Constitution because if it was not that, I don’t know whether we could have got a chance to gather as we are here.”

The Presiding Bishop also called upon Ugandans to embrace justice and transparency in all their activities. “Let us aspire for the best, let us have Justice in our hearts, homes, families, villages, and our nation because without justice there is no peace,” he added

Ndidde Yasin, Deputy RCC Kampala Central Division, on representing the Minister for Kampala Kabuye Kyofatogabye, prayed for the newly ordained bishops to perform their duties wholeheartedly and observe all the ethical standards

The three newly consecrated Bishops include now Bishop Dr. John Baptist Matovu, Bishop Joseph Bizibu Birungi, and Bishop Bruno Ssekiryamuba Muhindo who were elected as the Auxiliary Bishop for Uganda, Auxiliary Bishop of Kampala Diocese and Bishop for North Kivu Diocese, Democratic Republic of Congo respectively.
