KIKANDWA,— Brig Gen Henry Isoke, the head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU) on Thursday called on senior police officers to be at the forefront of the battle against corruption if they are to contribute towards the Country’s development.

While delivering a lecture, to officers from the Criminal Investigations, Professional Standards, and Canine Units at the Uganda Police Training Facility in Kikandwa, Isoke stressed that corruption within police ranks erodes the foundation of law enforcement.
He urged the officers to commit to their duties, embody integrity, and prioritize service to improve the police force’s image.
Isoke also echoed President Yoweri Museveni’s repeated calls for integrity among public servants, including the police, highlighting the core principles of patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Brig. Gen. Isoke also commended the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for his firm stance against corruption within the military, which he said has made the UPDF a reliable force in the region.
He expressed his appreciation to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Director of Criminal Investigations (CID) for organizing programs that contribute to the ideological grounding of the officers.
Isoke further implored detectives to serve as role models in combating corruption, asserting that their integrity is crucial for the nation’s stability. He advocated for enhanced collaboration between SH-ACU and the police, as well as increased teamwork among all anti-corruption agencies for the benefit of the country.
Other officials at this event included; D/SSP Fred Lumala, the Head of Investigations at SH-ACU. He was received at the training facility by the Commandant, ACP Doka Ramadan.
