Census Update: Prime Minister Nabbanja enumerated

KAKUMIRO-The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah has been enumerated in the going 2024 National housing and population census in Uganda.

The enumeration exercise was conducted on Friday morning, at her Country in Kinena A Cell, Kakumiro Town Council, Kakumiro district by the local Enumerators working under Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).

The exercise was conducted in the presence of Dr. Kabagenyi Allen one of the UBOS board members.

In her message to all Ugandans, Nabanja urged all Ugandans to participate in the national census exercise because it is not merely a legal requirement but it is a powerful opportunity for all people to contribute directly in shaping of Uganda.

“There is a tendency by our people, hiding children with disabilities, please let us count those children because its through the census that government will be able to plan for them knowing their needs.”

“Let us participate actively and encourage our friends, families, and neighbors to do the same. Our engagement now will pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for all Ugandans.” Nabbanja added

The Census activities commenced in the midnight as the Enumerators engaged in counting of the floating population (People in transit, bars, Street children and those in public accommodation facilities)

The Census exercise will run until the 19th May 2024 to enable the Enumerators at least to reach out to all homesteads country wide.
