CORRECTION AND APOLOGY: Ham Tower Building has valid structural Integrity Assessment Reports

Ham Towers Building has valid structural integrity reports. We have also unpublished a misleading story that alleged otherwise (PHOTO/Courtesy)

KAMPALA – On Thursday, August 25, we published a misleading story concerning tenants at Ham Towers Building in Makerere Hill Raod where we alleged that they wanted the National Building Review Board (NBRB) and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to conduct a structural integrity assessment of the building on grounds that it was putting their lives in danger.

Having engaged with stakeholders concerned and having reflected on the detriment the story has caused to the person of Mr. Hamis Kiggundu, Ham Enterprise U Limited, and their business partners, we hereby regret what has happened so far and undertake to do better, especially regarding the need to balance our reporting and the obligation to get the Ham Enterprise viewpoint.

UG Standard has since established that Ham Towers holds valid structural Integrity assessment reports conducted by both KCCA and the National Building Review Board and therefore, there is no need to cause an alarm.

The story has since been unpublished from www.ugstandard.com and all our social media channels for lacking professional attributes.

In the same vein, we apologize to Mr. Hamis Kiggunud, Ham Enterprise U Limited, and all stakeholders involved while undertaking to do better in our subsequent reporting.
