Kampala, Uganda – The Ministry of Education and Sports has announced the dates for Term One for Senior Five students, with the first-term reporting date set for Monday, March 3, 2025.

The announcement was made by Education Minister Janet Museveni during the release of the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results.

According to the Minister, the new term dates are designed to ensure a smooth transition for students, particularly those advancing to Senior Five.

“The Ministry of Education and Sports is committed to ensuring that our education system runs smoothly and efficiently,” Minister Museveni said. “We urge all students, parents, and educators to take note of the new term dates and make necessary arrangements accordingly.”

The Minister praised the UNEB and various stakeholders for their tireless efforts in implementing the new lower secondary curriculum. The Minister’s commendation comes as the first cohort of students under the new curriculum receives their Uganda Certificate of Education results.

Minister Museveni acknowledged the challenges faced during the transition period but expressed gratitude for the dedication and hard work exhibited by teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.

The Minister praised the teamwork and collaboration that achieved this milestone.

The new curriculum aims to develop competencies in all areas of learning, equipping students with the skills necessary for Uganda’s future development.
