ELSA Africa in final preparations stage for second quadball tournament

Uganda is in preparation for the second quadball tournament organized by Elsa Africa.

While addressing the press on Thursday, Daisy Mukisa the Public Relations Officer of Quadball said that they are are building the sport from grass root. ” Now we are organizing this tournament to help us to select the best players and the best teams which will represent us in the next European games.”

“Currently our focus is to spread quadball through different ways like organizing quadball friendlies, quadball gallas and tournaments and this is going to be our second tournament.
As Elsa Africa, a local based community organization we have embarked on a campaign to spread and popularize quadball sport in schools as a way of developing talents and love for the game right from the grassroots. Daisy Mukisa added

James Mulumba the Elsa quadball club coach says the move to take quadball to schools intends to expose the game to many young people in schools and nurture talents among them.
He says the sport will also help to connect students to international universities through obtaining scholarships.

Ddumba Lawrence the Elsa Africa quadball club manager who also double as secretary for quadball Uganda, urged players to concentrate more on technical positions like, coaching referee among other technical aspect.

He further added that the need for people to go out of the country to study Technical aspects is open and encourages many to take up such opportunities.

“Our next step is to write to the international body to help us with proper equipment like hoops, broom sticks, bludgers and quaffles that we can use during training and test matches.

He added that Quadball is a tool for youth to showcase their talents through a different sport as it has become increasingly hard for them to feature in more established sports.
