KAMPALA -The Government, through the Ministry of Works and Transport, has suspended with immediate effect the operation of YY coaches due to reckless driving.

According to Hon. Fred Byamukama the state Minister for Works and Transport, during the 15 days suspension, there will conduct inspection of driver badges and permits, review driver schedules and training history as well as investigating more about the use of aged, underqualified drivers
“The Ministry of Works and Transport in coordination with Uganda Police’s Directorate of Traffic, have resolved to suspend YY Bus operations for 15 days following a series of serious accidents linked to reckless driving.” Remarked Byamukama
He assured the public that the operation of these busses will only resume after completion of the full review.
This is not the first bus Company to be suspended by Government as a result of reckless Driving. In less than a year Link Bus services were also suspended, but later allowed to commence operations after addressing the concerns of government.
