Love Turns to Bloodshed: Husband Arrested for Murdering Wife

Tragedy struck Vumba Village, Kakabala parish, Butuntumula sub county in Luwero district on Sunday, 21st April 2024, when a woman was brutally hacked to death in a domestic dispute.

According to ASP Sam Twiineamazinga, the police spokesperson for Savannah region, “Preliminary information indicates that on 19th April 2024, the deceased came with her girl child from Namutumba district to check on her husband, and since then, they had been staying together and having some domestic quarrels.”

The situation escalated on the night of 21st April 2024, when the suspect, Musana Sosipatero, a 35-year-old casual worker, strangled his wife. ASP Twiineamazinga Sam described the gruesome scene: “Today morning, the neighbors found the child crying in the house and went to investigate. They found the house open, and both the deceased and the suspect were lying on the floor. The woman was dead with two deep cuts on her neck and hand, and the man was suspected to have poisoned himself using rat poison, which was smelling all over the house.”

The police were quickly alerted, and a case of murder by hacking was registered. The scene was visited and documented by the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) and Homicide Squad from Luwero CPS. The body was taken to Luwero Hospital for postmortem examination, and the suspect was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The child was handed over to local leaders, and relevant statements were recorded from witnesses.

ASP Twiineamazinga emphasized that “no exhibit like the killer weapon was recovered, and more inquiries are still ongoing.”

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring justice to the victim and her family.
