KAMPALA-Following the social media attack on careless government vehicle drivers with recent one being a Toyota Land cruiser which knocked down a motorcycle carrying a lady taking her child to school at Kibuye Round About and left them helpless.
The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has ownned up the Motor vehicle Registration number UG 1059 J ( that knocked down people) on Tuesday morning.
According to Jacqueline Okui , the Spokesperson of ODPP, they have already reached out to the victims and is working closely with police authorities to manage the situation and ensure that they receive all the necessary support.
“The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (0DPP) expresses its sincere regret for the traffic incident that occurred this morning at Kibuye roundabout wherein one of the ODPP security backup vehicles collided with a motorcycle carrying a woman and her school-going child.” remarked okui
She further promised that they are taking the necessary steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future since safety of all individuals on the road is paramount.
Cases of misbehaving among officials using Government owned Vehicles is on increase in the country and this has led to damages and loss of lives and property.
Social media has done a lot in exposing these cases and in most of them action has been taken to the extent of suspending the perpetrators and others have been brought to boke.
