KAMPALA– Following last night shooting , where unknown people attacked Pastor Aloysius Bugingo’s vehicle and killed his body guard Muhumuza Richard, Old Kampala Police Station has commenced with investigations leading to arrest of individuals involved.

According to the statement released by Luke Oweyisgyire the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Spokesperson, approximately 9 PM on January 2nd, 2024, unidentified assailants opened fire on Pastor Bugingo’s vehicle, registered as PRAIZ GOD, along Namungona , Zone 2 , kasubi Rubaga Division Kampala at Bwalakata Junction along National Housing Road , before swiftly escaping the scene on a motorcycle.
“Despite sustaining injuries during the attack, Pastor Aloysious Bugingo managed to transport the vehicle to Mulago Hospital. Regrettably, his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, succumbed to the assault and was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital. Currently, Pastor Bugingo is undergoing medical treatment and is under close monitoring.” Reads part of the statement

He adds that upon an immediate response to the incident, police discovered that the scene had been tampered with, statements from eyewitnesses have been diligently recorded, and the deceased’s body has been conveyed to the City Mortuary at Mulago for a thorough postmortem examination.
Oweyisgyire added that currently they have embarked on analyzing the CCTV footage from the nearby cameras to identify the assailants.
Reports indicate that Pastor Bugingo is out of danger and currently is under treatment.
