Kampala, Uganda – The Pathfinder Catalyst Academy, a joint initiative between CEO Summit Uganda and the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), graduated its third cohort of women leaders on Wednesday.

The six-month programme is designed to equip select women leaders at NSSF with the necessary skills and insights to excel in the workplace.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Stephen Mukasa, Managing Director of CEO Summit Uganda, urged the graduates to find meaning in the work they do and the journey that they take from here.

“As we stand here today, it is important to know that the unexamined life is not worth living,” Mukasa said. “Throughout this program, you have gained invaluable skills, insights, and connections that will serve as stepping stones in your careers and personal lives.”

Mukasa emphasized the importance of love and leadership, saying “as graduates of the PathFinder Catalyst Academy, you now step into the world with a responsibility to lead, to inspire, and to create meaningful impact. And at the heart of it all, let love be your guide.”

Phiona Kamukama, class president of the graduating cohort, highlighted the impact achieved and implored her fellow graduates to continue investing in themselves.

“Ladies, you have showed up,” Kamukama said. “Keep showing up because opportunities find those that show up, opportunities find those that are prepared for them, opportunities find those that look towards them, lean towards them.”

Kamukama expressed gratitude to CEO Summit Uganda for opening up new opportunities and to NSSF for investing in the women leaders.

The Pathfinder Catalyst Academy is part of a broader effort to promote women’s leadership and empowerment in Uganda’s corporate sector.

Investing in staff skilling, especially for women, is essential for fostering innovation, productivity, and inclusivity in the workplace, according to CEO Summit Uganda.

The organization offers various open leadership programs, including the LEAN Forward Modular program and the CEO Apprenticeship Program (CAP), aimed at transforming the lives of leaders and promoting diversity and competitiveness in the workforce.
