What did you want to be when you were younger?
When I was younger, I wanted to be a lawyer.
What made you choose to become a cabin crew?
I used to fly on Emirates before becoming a cabin crew. This was while I was still attending my University studies abroad. I always admired the cabin crew onboard and would interact with them at every opportunity. I was intrigued and learnt so much from listening to them narrate their experience of working with Emirates, their travels and meeting people from different parts of the world. This inspired me so much that I eventually applied online and joined.
What is it like being a cabin crew?
It is exciting! Every day is a surprise because I always get to fly with different cosmopolitan crew on every flight, meet passengers from different parts of the world and I always learn something new.
What are some of your most memorable moments?
My first flight to the Maldives. The aerial view as we were landing was extraordinary that I have never forgotten it nine years later.
How do you spend your free time?
I spend my free time reading and researching about farming. I am very close to my family and so I make sure I am always in touch with them as they keep me grounded.
With everyone staying at home globally, what is a typical day like for you now and how do you keep yourself entertained?
My kids are infants, so I spend quality time resting and catching up on sleep when I am not spending time with them. I wake up every morning at 9am and make breakfast for my boys, complete a few chores at home and play with them. Something new I am trying out when I am not reading is baking, which I haven’t done before, and I also try cooking new dishes for the first time.
What do you miss the most about your work?
I miss travelling to different destination and visiting the market place! I love the little gems you can always find there.
What movie/series are currently watching? Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, Suits and The Resident
How are you staying fit and active while indoors? I have tried different home workouts from Zoom Sukuma classes and T25 through YouTube.
What is your skin care regime?
I make sure I drink a lot of water and get about eight hours of sleep every day. I also moisturise and cleanse my skin every day.
What is your favourite make-up/beauty look?
My go to look is fresh and natural
What skin care and beauty products can’t you live without? Lip balm and a good moisturiser
