Comedian Kateregga Nicholas, also known as Mutooro, has landed a job at Radio 4, one of Uganda’s leading modern radio stations.

The announcement was made on Sunday by the Station’s Manager, Kungu Al-mahadi Adam, on the X platform. The station recently announced changes in presenters and programming with the aim of remaining one of the best in the country.

He will be doing the evening show from 4 pm to 7 pm alongside Jaqi Deweyi and Byrons Meijor.

Mutooro, a popular TikToker and internet personality, gained popularity in 2021 when his short video on TikTok playing a character from the Tooro area showing all traits of people from the region went viral.

Kungu says Mutooro is the perfect person they were looking for to bring the humour highly needed in their evening show.

“He is a perfect fit. His unbeatable humour and rare comic character are exactly what our listeners have missed for a long time. We are excited to have him here,” Kungu says.

He is one of the many media personalities who were carefully selected and brought on board at Radio 4.

The presenters who include DJ Janny P, Yusuf Baliluno, comedian Nicole Mutooro, Abdul Nsereko, Byrons Meijor, DJ 16, Jaqi Deweyi, Tinah Nangonzi, Abdallah Walusimbi, Sharon Kaka, among others, possess experience spanning years in the industry and have already brought a new life to the station.

The new programming, which also includes Omuzira Fumbe Lubwama Vincent (Formerly on Top Radio), starts this Monday, September 4, at 5 a.m.
