Religious leaders in the country have called for leadership that focuses on serving humanity with utmost transparency and accountability.

Archbishop Stephen Kazimba Mugalu

The call has been made by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda His Grace Dr Stephen Kazimba Mugalu and the former Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi

The two were addressing the gathering in Bweyogerere at Compassion International-A child centered civil society organization at the Commissioning ceremony of Emmanuel Ahimbisibwe as their new National Director.

In his speech, Kazimba urged leaders to be ready to vacate offices and hand over peacefully when their mandate expires because accepting that your time is due is a sign of maturity in leadership.

“I have liked Compassion for its efforts towards uplifting children from poor background into responsible citizens. I have seen a lawyer who was helpless deep down in Kitimbwa village, but with support from this organization , he has become one of the important persons in this country today.”

Kazimba added that at the ceremony, he experienced a wholeheartedly service to the people in a transparent and accountable manner which needs to be prioritized in all sectors of this country.

This he says must be the practice in the different areas of leadership to avoid blackmail, character assassination and conflicts that cripple progress

This as he presided over the commissioning of Emmanuel Ahimbisibwe as the new national director of Compassion International-A child centered civil society organization.
