Kampala, Uganda – Roke Telkom, a leading telecommunications and cloud solutions provider, has announced a significant sponsorship deal with the Stanbic Black Pirates Rugby Club.
The company has pledged over Ushs 450 million (approximately $120,000 USD) to support the club ahead of the upcoming rugby season. The sponsorship aims to promote the growth and development of rugby among Uganda’s youth.
Roke Telkom’s Commercial Manager, Anthony Tenywa, made the announcement at the company’s commercial offices in Kampala. He expressed his confidence in the partnership and pledged the company’s support towards the development of the sport.
“I am pleased to announce that Roke Telkom is committing 450 million Uganda shillings to the mighty Black Pirates Rugby Club as part of our support for the growth of rugby talent among Uganda’s youth,” Tenywa said.
The Pirates Rugby Club Head Coach, Marvin Odongo, applauded Roke Telkom for choosing to partner with the club. “We are thrilled to have you join the Pirates family, not just as business associates, but as fellow visionaries who share a passion for excellence,” he said.
Daniel Canowira, Pirates Rugby Club Chairperson, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Roke Telkom Uganda, hailing the new sponsorship as a groundbreaking development that will revolutionize the team’s performance and elevate the sport of rugby in Uganda.
Roke Telkom has a history of supporting rugby in Uganda, having sponsored Rugby Sevens in 2016 and 2019. The company’s latest sponsorship deal is set to boost the sport’s development in the country.
