Kampala, Uganda – Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Muganwa as Executive Director, effective immediately. This appointment follows regulatory approval and is in addition to his current role as Head of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB).
Mr. Muganwa brings nearly two decades of banking experience, including leadership roles in Uganda and South Africa. His expertise spans various banking functions, and his current strategic role in CIB has driven remarkable growth over the past three years.
Throughout his tenure, Mr. Muganwa has demonstrated excellence in leading landmark investment banking transactions, establishing a capable local investment banking franchise, and developing capabilities in project and corporate finance, capital markets, mergers, and acquisitions. His ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders has significantly contributed to the bank’s continued success.
This strategic appointment strengthens the bank’s leadership team and demonstrates its commitment to building a strong succession talent pool at the executive level. Mr. Muganwa joins Mr. Sam Mwogeza, Executive Director for Personal & Private Banking, and Mumba Kenneth Kalifungwa, Chief Executive, Stanbic Bank Uganda, as the third Executive Director on the bank’s board.
