Director of Mobilization at the NRM secretariat and also the former minister for Primary education RoseMary Sseninde has appealed to the young people to make proper use of technology, phones in particular to promote their small business.
She said while Unemployment rising in the country, the social media space has the potential and opportunities to boost the incomes of the younger generation who spend a sizable amount of their time online every day.
” I urge Young people to make proper use of phones to do business other than wasting time on social media while sharing unproductive content ” Hon. Rosemary Sseninde noted while officiating at the launch of New Tecno Comon 30 series, a Premier 5G Smart Phone.

Sseninde also used the same platform to urge the ruling government to create policies that will enable younger people to generate social media content that helps them to earn income other than wasting time on social media watching and sharing pornography and many other unproductive content and videos.
Sseninde warned youths about being on WhatsApp and wasting time watching phonograph saying this might kill their careers.
She encouraged investors to use available opportunities like the incentives to do business in Uganda and also create jobs for Ugandans.
She applauded Tecno’s commitment to innovation space saying the Camon30 is everything the world needs.

She further commended Tecno Uganda for skilling the Ugandan youth and providing them with employment opportunities.
On his part, Timmy Shen, the Tecno Brand Manager, emphasized the importance of government support through subsidizing taxes.
He explained that reduced taxes would facilitate the establishment of manufacturing plants locally, enabling the company to supply their products to end-users at a lower cost.
