KAMPALA, Uganda – Tecno has officially launched its Camon 40 series in Uganda, introducing the Camon 40, 40 Pro, and 40 Premier models, each boasting advanced AI camera systems and enhanced performance capabilities. The launch event, held at Tecno’s flagship store in Kampala, highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology to the Ugandan market.

Bruce Dickson, Tecno Uganda’s product consultant, underscored the series’ technological advancements, stating, “This latest addition to the Camon family introduces cutting-edge technology, powerful camera capabilities, and a sleek design, redefining the mobile experience for our Ugandan consumers.”

The Tecno Camon 40 series features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals. The Premier 5G model may feature a 6.74-inch curved AMOLED display with resolutions up to 1440 x 3200 pixels.

Performance-wise, the Camon 40 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 7300 SoC, while the Camon 40 Pro (4G) and the base Camon 40 utilize the Helio G100 Ultimate chipset. All models offer 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The camera system is a key highlight, with a 50MP main camera across all models. The series also incorporates advanced AI enhancements for superior photo capture.

Battery life is addressed with a 5200mAh battery, supporting 45W charging for the base model and 80W charging for the Pro and Premier models. The series runs on Android 15 with Tecno’s HiOS 15.

The Camon 40 Pro features a traditional vertical camera alignment on the back, distinguishing its design.

“Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a gamer, or someone who values a premium smartphone experience, the Camon 40 series has something for you,” Dickson emphasized, highlighting the series’ versatility.

MTN Uganda announced a partnership, offering 9GB of MTN data valid for three months to customers purchasing the Camon 40 series.

Ian Mugambe, MTN Uganda’s devices manager, said the partnership would enhance business and educational opportunities for Ugandans.

The Tecno Camon 40 series will be available for hands-on experience at the Banana Life shop in Forest Mall Lugogo on Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22.
