The letter has been copied to Hon. The Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice, The Principal Judge, The Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary as well as Secretary, Office of the President.

Some of the family members of Lady Justice Amoko who include some of her biological sisters , brother and children have petitioned family Division of High Court seeking for orders changing the burrial venue of their relative to be changed from Adjumani to Nebbi

“The remains of our biological mother late Hon. Lady Justice Mary Stella Arach

Amoko be buried at Juba Village, Jukia Hill Ward, Nebbi Municipality, Nebbi

District, as she wished in her Oral Willwishes before her death through her brother Godfrey Picho, her sister Christine Onyok Oling, and her Niece Nancy Okwong.” Reads the Application

According to the affidavit of Annette Yossa one of the biological children of the deceased, all the applicants are desirous of having their mother buried in a dignified, peaceful, and prompt manner at her ancestral home in Nebbi Municipality as per her expressed wish at the time of her demise.

That the Judiciary had earlier been misguided to publicly announce Adjumani as the final resting place for their mother and therefore It is in the interest of justice, equity and fairness that this honorable court grants the

Order to bury the late Hon. Lady Justice Mary Stella Arach Amoko at her ancestral burial grounds.

The close family members contend that they were left out in some of the crucial burrial preparation meetings which came up with the burrial site.

In the burrial  program which was released early this week by the Judiciary, the deceased was supposed to be burried today at Una Central Village Omi Parish Parish, Pachara Sub-County, Adjumani District.

Lady Justice Stella Arach Amoko passed away over the weekend at Nakasero Hospital where she had been admitted for a while.

She served in Judiciary ever since 1997 untill when she passed away. By the time of her demise , she was serving as a Supreme Court judge.
