Tourism Expo Japan 2024 opens at big sight in Tokyo: Uganda participates with exhibitors from Buganda Kingdom, Bic Tours, Uganda Mission Tokyo

The Tourism Exhibition of Japan (TEJ) for this year (2024) officially opened yesterday 26th September, 2024 at Big Sight in Tokyo where it usually takes place every year. This year’s TEJ is being held under “Travel, An Encounter with New Value Awaits” as its theme.

Uganda is participating with Exhibitors from Buganda Kingdom, Bic Tours and Uganda Mission Tokyo. Buganda Kingdom is exhibiting various aspects of Buganda cultural heritage with special focus on the Kasubi Tombs as a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site.

Bic Tours and Uganda Embassy Tokyo are projecting and promoting the various aspects of Uganda’s tourism potential and investment opportunities in Uganda’s tourism sector.

The Uganda Exhibitors have been joined by Ms. Kaori of Gorilla Highland Coffee who promotes Arabica Coffee from Kisoro Highlands in Uganda to Japan, and is serving, and promoting it as a Ugandan product at the Exhibition.

The Exhibition is scheduled to run till 30th September, 2024 and the choice of its theme is meant to motivate the public to travel, explore and market the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan and attract others to visit Japan.

The Exhibition is running concurrently with a meeting of Ministers of Tourism of Japan and Countries participating in the exhibition.
