KAMPALA, Uganda — A Ugandan university student has won 400 million Ugandan shillings in sports betting and has decided to quit school.
Isaac, a student at Uganda Christian University, said he had been struggling financially before his big win. He invested in a fixed sports betting game provided by the Uganda Bettors Association.
“I was skeptical at first, but after thorough research, I decided to take the risk,” Isaac said. “I asked the Uganda Bettors Association to stake on my behalf to avoid any mistakes.”
Isaac’s patience paid off, and he was overwhelmed with emotion when he discovered he had won.
“I didn’t sleep that night. I didn’t even follow the games. All I did was pray,” he said. “When I checked the results the next morning, I couldn’t believe my eyes.”
With his newfound wealth, Isaac has decided to abandon his academic pursuits.
“Why struggle with books when I’ve already achieved financial freedom?” he said.
Isaac’s decision has sparked a national conversation about the role of sports betting in Ugandan society.
The Uganda Bettors Association has welcomed Isaac’s win, emphasizing the importance of responsible betting practices.
