The Uganda Episcopal Conference has unveiled the funeral program of Msgr. Dr. Francis Ndamira, the former National Director of Caritas Uganda, who passed on at Nsambya Hospital on Sunday, 27 August 2023.
According to the programme, on Sunday, there was Mass and vigil at Mzee Bakangas residence at 7 Angel’s Gardens in Nsambya.

On Monday, 28th August there will be a requiem mass at Nsambya Church starting at 9 am. Thereafter, the body leaves for Rushoroza, Kabale. Tuesday 29th August is the burial starting with Mass at 10 am.

The death of Msgr Ndamira has left many Catholics, especially those in the Kabale Diocese and Caritas community, devastated.

Caritas Uganda said Msgr Ndamira, the former National Director of Caritas Uganda for 29 years, was at the helm of fighting extreme poverty in the households.
“Since 12.04.1970, he has served the lord diligently by composing songs, authoring books, starting different Income-generating activities, offering sacraments, spreading the gospel, and many others. His wisdom will be greatly missed,” they said.

Caritas Uganda was founded in 1970 and is the overall coordinating body for the socio-economic development of the Uganda Episcopal Conference. Caritas responds practically to humanitarian crises such as natural disasters, conflict and the effects of climate change.
