KAMPALA, Uganda  — Vivo Energy Uganda on Friday awarded 30 winners in its ongoing Shell FuelSave Diesel “Omunene W’ ekubbo” (loosely translated as “The Big One on the Road”) campaign, providing them with fuel, lubricants, and gas.

The company said in a statement that the campaign aims to recognize hardworking Ugandan drivers and promote Shell FuelSave Diesel as the preferred fuel nationwide.

The winners, selected weekly as part of the “Omunene Wa Week” competition, each received a full tank of fuel valued at 500,000 Ugandan shillings, along with lubricants and gas. The three-month campaign is designed to offer value-added initiatives to enhance the experience of diesel customers at Shell service stations.

Mutungi Mark, Brand Manager Fuels at Vivo Energy Uganda, said the campaign is intended to show appreciation to Ugandan drivers and provide benefits to improve their daily experiences on the road. He added that the company is also committed to providing training on product quality, defensive driving, and community well-being.

Joanita Menya Mukasa, Managing Director at Vivo Energy Uganda, said the company is proud to offer not only fuel but also services that empower drivers to make safer and more informed choices. “This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the drivers who keep Uganda moving forward every day,” she said.

Mukasa also noted a partnership with the Uganda Taxi Operators Federation, stating it reflects a long-term vision for a safer, more efficient, and rewarding transport system. She said by providing drivers with knowledge on fuel efficiency, defensive driving, and vehicle maintenance, they are empowered to optimize performance and ensure road safety.

The ongoing campaign includes initiatives such as educating taxi operators on product quality and defensive driving, organizing health camps and blood donation drives in taxi parks, conducting promotional activities to reward customer loyalty and improve service at Shell stations, and enhancing safety and convenience in taxi parks.

The “Omunene W’ekkubbo” campaign spans the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Western regions of Uganda, offering drivers information about Shell FuelSave Diesel and opportunities to participate in prize draws.

Customers who fuel up with 50,000 Ugandan shillings or more of Shell FuelSave Diesel at participating stations are entered into a draw for prizes including two drones, instant rewards like airtime and fuel vouchers, and branded merchandise.

Vivo Energy Uganda said it remains committed to providing high-quality products and services that support local businesses and meet customers’ evolving energy needs.
