MPIGI– Katie Lowie, one of the good Samaritans from supporting the needy in Uganda, has asked girls and Vulnerable women to put much emphasis on learning practical skills than looking back into the mistakes which resulted into their suffering.

“Teen motherhood comes with unique challenges, but it also reveals unique strength. Embrace who you are, forgive yourself often, and be proud of your growth. With determination and focus, nothing is beyond your reach. Your hard work today is the foundation of a brighter tomorrow.” Remarked Katie via zoom , as she addressed the women at Elsa Vocational training center.
She assured the women and young girls that if they want to succeed they should work hard with hope because they are not the first neither the last to pass through challenging situation.
“Am a single mom, we don’t need to look back, we need to look forward and have a better life. My children agree with me that they should have better life than me, my son is graduating from High School. My children are inspiring, one completed High school, one volunteer, one fashion designer.”
She further thanked ESLA for having thought about the vulnerable communities through linking them to good Samaritans like her.
One of the girls who participated in the training, thanked ESLA and madam Katie for the wonderful opportunity. “It was a surprise having madam Katie, she has taught us a lot which is going to help us in our academics and day to day life.”
She also promised to use the same skills to train other girls in her community who dropout of school as a result of early pregnancies or lack of school fees.
“I have learnt how to embrace self love , self esteem and respect. The most exciting session was on the first day when we sang nice songs to madam Katie , she enjoyed the music and we were so happy.” Remarked Ruth Nakato one of the beneficiaries.
