LUSAKA, Zambia  — Zambian tech startup Nyamula Logistics is using a digital platform to connect small cargo owners with truck operators across Africa.

Founded in 2018, Nyamula aims to streamline cargo transport by eliminating intermediaries. The platform allows cargo owners to post details of their goods, while vetted transporters can find and accept jobs based on location and capacity.

“We built Nyamula to simplify logistics for small businesses and transporters alike,” said Euphemia Chikungulu, Chief Technology Lead at Nyamula Logistics. The platform offers real-time tracking and faster delivery options.

Nyamula is now integrating digital payments to facilitate easier transactions between users.

Like many African fintech startups, Nyamula faces challenges including access to funding and scaling support. The company recently participated in the #40Days40FinTechs Zambia and Malawi edition, an initiative highlighting fintech solutions promoting financial inclusion. The initiative is supported by HiPipo, the Level One Project, Mojaloop Foundation, and the Gates Foundation.

Nyamula hopes the visibility gained from the initiative will help it secure partnerships to expand its reach in Zambia, Malawi, and other African countries.
