Court orders city lawyers to back off Ssenyonga’s name in controversial case

MENGO – Nateete/Rubaga Grade one Magistrate Adams Byaruhanga, has ordered the prosecution in a matter where 9 people are accused of allegedly conspiring to falsely accuse Pastor Robert Kayanja of committing unnatural offences, to avoid bringing in Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga’s name in the case where is not a party.

Ssebale said that it was them who approached Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga and informed him that Pastor Robert Kayanja had committed an unnatural offense against them.

“Pastor Ssenyonga did not know about our scheme at the time we approached him and that’s why he asked for proof, he would give us $20,000 and because we wanted money we slaughtered s chicken and collected the blood and used the same to fabricate the video against Kayanja, but we were told that Ssenyonga was not impressed with the video” Stated Ssebale

Ssebale further added that they did whatever was possible to forge the proof that the act was committed to them but on sharing the videos with both above-mentioned men of God, they didn’t receive any response.

The court on the other hand released on bail Israel Wasswa and Jamil Wasswa some of the accused persons after fulfilling all the necessary requirements and presenting substantial sureties.

These were ordered to deposit two million shillings cash as well as a bond of ten million shillings for each of their sureties. They were also ordered not to engage in activity that may interfere with the evidence of the case before the Court.

The matter was adjourned to 10th November 2023 for further hearing.

All the nine accused in this matter are; Peter Serugo, Reagan Ssentogo, Moses Semanobe, Khalifa Labeeb, Alex Wakamala, Martins Kagolo, Jamil Mwanda, Aggrey Kanene, and Israel Waswa.
