Police in Luwero town is hunting for the security guard who shot dead a colleague on Saturday night.
The suspect has been identified as Godwin Kwemoi who is accused of shooting dead a colleague Anthony Jarindya aged 30 years all attached at Ryayo Security Group in Luwero town.
It is alleged both were deployed at Najjembe Developers Micro Finance Limited located in Binyonyi zone in Luwero town.
However, they developed a misunderstanding at around 11:20 pm on Saturday and Kwemoi shot Jarindya dead before he fled.
The Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson Sam Twineamazima explains that Police rushed to the scene and found the killer had run away leaving the gun in their rented room.
Twineamazima added that the gun of the deceased was also recovered and statements were recorded by witnesses from the scene.
“We transferred the dead body to the Mortuary at Mulago Hospital for postmortem examinations and the hunt for the suspect is ongoing,” Twineamazima said
In March this year,a security guard John Amuriat deployed at Kazinga Secondary School was shot dead and thugs stole 2.5 million Shillings from the bursar’s office.
In 2022, several security guards and policemen were killed in the Luwero district, and guns were stolen in attacks.
