Who is Prof Sudi Nangoli, the new UPPC MD

The Board of Directors of Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Sudi Nangoli as the Managing Director.
The Board of Directors of Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Sudi Nangoli as the Managing Director.

ENTEBBE – Prof. Sudi Nangoli has been tapped to head Uganda Printing and Publishing Company (UPPC) in the capacity of Managing Director.

The Corporation, one of the oldest institutions in Uganda, was started by the colonial government in 1902 and lived through the decades serving the government as the official printer. It also produces the Ugandan Gazette which contains Notices, Government declarations and supplements, Bills, Statutes, Statutory instruments and Legal Notices.

Nangoli takes over office from Mr. Kenneth Oluka who has been acting as Managing director since 2021.

He will now head the Publishing section responsible for operationalizing the publishing functions of the corporation.

Nangoli while assuming office committed himself to focus on ICT Innovations in printing and publishing to compete on the global scale.

The position fell vacant after the arrest of Mr. Tom Davis Waswa, then MD after fraud allegations marred the institution.

There are a number of projects that need to give priority which include the printing of National IDs on behalf of NIRA – Uganda.

Oluka while handing over office said, the institution still grapples with a lack of cooperation amongst workers which he said can be solved through encouraging teamwork and dialogue.

Mr. Joachim Buwembo, the Chairperson of the UPPC board thanked Oluka for steering the institution during the trying times.

Who is Prof. Sudi Nangoli?

Prof. Nangoli has been a member of senior management at the Makerere University Business School (MUBS), since 2014 where served as the Ag. Dean at the Faculty of Business Administration.

He has previously been Dean and Programme Controller in charge of the Faculty of Management Sciences at Busitema University and sits on the Board of its Fund Company.

Prof. Nangoli has undertaken international consulting assignments in reputable organizations like the Institute of Certified public accountants in Uganda, the Somali Disaster Resilience Institute, and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) among others.

The new UPPC boss has a specialty in strategic management, business management, mindset change, entrepreneurship, and project management.

He holds a Ph.D. in Business Management, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration majoring in project management. He is also a member of ACCA -UK, and CPA-U.

Prof. Nangoli has contributed to the printing and publishing industry by reviewing, editing, developing, and publishing peer-reviewed quality articles in the international and local fora.

Prof. Nangoli brings a wealth of experience in management and research knowledge in improving revenue performance, enhancing business survival and growth, project management, and building social networks among others.

His expertise will be instrumental in propelling the corporation to deliver on its mandate.
