Lets deepen E.A integration, Alupo urges visiting Kenyan church delegation

The Vice President Jessica Alupo was speaking in her office during a meeting with the Anglican Bishop of Church of Kenya Katakwa Diocese Rt.Rev John Okude who led his team to Uganda Kampala.

Vice President Jessica Alupo has said that there is need to deepen, strengthen and widen the East African integration.

The Vice President said that inspite of the fact that we speak common languages and share heritages and culture, we remain divided by border lines which hamper trade, development and cooperation.

The Vice President was speaking in her office during a meeting with the Anglican Bishop of Church of Kenya Katakwa Diocese Rt.Rev John Okude who led his team to Uganda Kampala.

The Vice President empahsised that East African integration will create a bigger market for commodities produced by citizens and also entrench uniform development of the whole region.

‘President Museveni has gained wide recognition for his relentless efforts in building the East African intergration now composed of seven member states building a strong foundation towards the EAC federation.

The Delegation said that they had come to pay a courtesy call to the Vice President and to thank God for the vision of President Museveni in appointing her as Vice President.

“The Kenyan Iteso take pride and thank God that their daughter is the Vice President of Uganda’ Bishop John Okude said.

On her part, the Vice President said that there is need for unity and togetherness for the Iteso to develop their region.

“Nevertheless, whether Iteso or any other indigenous group, we are all people of one human race,” she said. Urging that discrimination on the account of tribe, creed, gender, age, region, colour is unacceptable in Uganda and should not be entertained in any part of the world.

Bishop John Okude extended invitation to the Vice President to visit and speak to the Kenyan Iteso and intimated to her that many young girls in Kenya openly confess that the VP is their role model given her successes as a teacher, a Soldier, politician, a Christian, a mother, a parent,a leader etc

The delegation pledged a donation of two bulls to the President and Vice President.
The Vice President promised to pick the bulls when she visits Katakwa Kenya.
