In a press statement which has been released by Tom Best Aliinde the Company’s Public Relations Manager, the driver is currently under Police Custody pending further investigations.

“First, as a brand, we take ownership of the fact that the driver in the video is ours, and is formally registered as Jjemba Andrew. He currently operates on the Kampala-Fortportal-Kasese route. We learnt of the viral video this morning of Wednesday, 1st November 2023 from social media and our human resource office immediately swung into action to  investigate the matter.” reads part of the statement

The company adds that in a period of less than two months, the same individual had undergone their annual refresher training and therefore his action was not only reckless and dangerous, but also downplays the safety standards of their brand.

“We thank the passenger who captured the now-viral video for taking the concern to safeguard the lives of our passengers on board. We urge you all our passengers to make use of the numbers provided in the interior of our buses as well as our social media platforms to report any deviated behavior.”

These have further promised to continue ensuring the safety of all passengers and other road users.
